John "Russ" Weaver

John Russell Weaver passed away May 28, 2022 in Carrollton, Texas at the age of 92. He was born to Vern and Stacha (Landa) Weaver on March 20, 1930 in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

After graduating high school, he attended North Dakota State for a few years before joining the United States Navy, where he served on the USS Turner. During his service he got to travel to many countries all over the world. While in the Navy, he met and married his wife of 48 years, Susan. After completing his service, he went back to North Dakota and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering.

John and Susan were blessed with their first son, Steven and then three daughters, Cynthia, Susan, and Stacha followed as he and Susan moved from Minnesota to California, to Wisconsin and finally, Plano, Texas. After Susan passed in 2001. John dated for a year and two days before getting married to Rita at Hunter’s Glen Baptist Church on April 24, 2003. John was a very hard worker and never seemed to tire. After working all day at Texas Instruments, he would come home, eat dinner with his family and spend a few hours every night helping Steven with his homework, his daughters did not need it. John and Susan supported their kids in all their activities. John was an incredibly patient man and always remembered the bright points that happened. Johns’ family remembers a father and husband that never raised his voice, was respectful to others, and was an easy to please, loving man.

John is survived by his wife, Rita Deramee Weaver of Plano, Texas; son, Steven Weaver and wife, Caryn of Sachse, Texas; daughter, Cynthia Weaver of  Plano, Texas; daughter, Susan Williams and husband, Frank of Plano, Texas; daughter, Stacha Weaver Hicks and husband, Keith of Plano, Texas; son, Michael Deramee and wife, Natasha of Azle, Texas; daughter, Deborah Lindsey of Dallas, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher, Lindsay, Lauren, Bryan, Christine, Nicki, Andrea, David, Rachel, and Tyler, and twelve great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Susan and his grandson, Jonathan Weaver.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2022 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Plano, Texas. The family will receive guests for a visitation Wednesday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas 75013.
