John Vincent Taylor of Allen, Texas passed away on June 5, 2020 at the age of 80. He was born on February 12, 1940 to Robert Wynn and Velma Irene (Huckabee) Taylor in San Angelo, Texas. John graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1959. He attended San Angelo College for some time before he joined the United States Navy. After being in the Navy, John did a bit of everything; he delivered milk, worked at a car parts store and finally worked at Lone Star Gas Company. John married Mary Louise Miller on June 2, 1966 in San Angelo, Texas. They moved to Dallas where they raised their family. He worked for Texas Instruments for 25 years before retiring. After retirement, many companies called wanting him to come work for them. John worked for Marlo Industries before retiring at age 70. All through his life, he coached t-ball and baseball. John loved all sports and especially his Dallas Cowboys. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Taylor of Allen, Texas; children, Rodney Jacoby of McKinney, Texas, John Wilha and wife, Paula of Big Lake, Texas, Melinda Roberts and husband, Bill of Savoy, Texas, Steve Wilha and wife, Kathy of Fort Worth, Texas, and Kevin Taylor and wife, Courtney of McKinney, Texas; brothers, Bill Taylor and wife, Myrna of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Carol Taylor and wife, Judy of St. Peterburg, Florida; sister, Carolyn Haynes and husband, Howard of San Angelo, Texas; grandchildren, Shelby, Destin, Jerrid, Jason, Collin, Troy, Jenny, Chad, Brent, Cory, Jessica, Connie, Steven, Garrett, and Dalton; and numerous nephews and nieces and other loving family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Velma Taylor; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Roberts; son, Richard Jacoby; sister, Barbra Ann Taylor; brother, Robert “Windy” Taylor.
