John Edward Marshall of Melissa, Texas passed away on June 24, 2020 at the age of 88. He was born December 29, 1931 to Ennis and Mabel (Hurst) Marshall. John married Gracie Juanita McClellan on December 24, 1953 and together they brought 3 beautiful children into the world. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. For the last 13 years, John resided in Melissa, Texas with his daughter’s family and her husband. He was spunky, funny, loving, hardworking and most importantly, a Godly husband, father and grandfather. John was a member of Southside Assembly of God and later at First Melissa Church. He enjoyed spending time playing dominoes, dancing around in the kitchen, spending time with his dogs and watching the Dallas Cowboys. We are grateful for the many years the Lord blessed us with him on earth.
John is survived by his children, Randy Marshall and wife, Teresa of Van Alstyne, Texas, Johnny Marshall and wife, Linda of McKinney, Texas and Tammie Marshall Williams and husband, Jonathan Williams of Melissa, Texas; grandchildren, Chad Marshall, Brandon Marshall, Caleb Marshall, Janna Taylor, Brandi Salinas, Jennifer Williams, Jonathan Marshall Williams, and Bradley Williams; eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Noe of Anna, Texas and Ruth Neil and husband, Larry of Jonesboro, Georgia; his two dogs, Buddy Jaxon and Felicia; and a number of loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gracie Juanita of 62 years; parents, Ennis and Mabel; sisters, Louise Johnson, Patsy Parks and Geraldine “Jeri” Caldwell; great grandson, Nathaniel Marshall; and a number of brother and sister in laws.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2020 at Pecan Grove Cemetery, 1701 South McDonald Street, McKinney, Texas.
