John Paul Landers of Emory, Texas passed away on May 28, 2022 at the age of 74. He was born on June 8, 1947 to Clarence Leonard and Mary Elizabeth (Reneau) Landers in Dallas, Texas. John graduated from McKinney High School in 1965 and served in the United States Army from 1968 – 1970.
John loved fishing, hunting, working on cars, and fixing anything that was broken. Not sure he met an engine or tool he couldn’t fix. He especially loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, watching them grow up.
He is survived by his children, Kelly Yustat and husband, David of Celina, Texas, Ashley Jones and husband, Aubrey of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Nick McLean of Princeton, Texas; grandchildren, Colton Wortham, Ella Yustat, Avery Yustat, Sylvia Jones and Nora Jones; the mother’s of his children Debby Cowan and Libby Landers; sister, Mary Beth Adkins; brothers, Dicky Landers and Michael Landers; special family members, Audrey, David, Angel, Taylor, Chesney, Kate, Will, Ashley, Brynlee, and Parker; and numerous nephew, nieces, and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
Committal services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Because floral arrangements are limited, in lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Texas Parks and Wildlife.
