Mr. John C. (Pinky) Peurifoy of Farmersville, Texas passed away Tuesday morning in Dallas, Texas. He was born March 2, 1922 in Wortham, Texas, the son of Elbert A. and Leona Bounds Purifoy.
He was married to Elizabeth Brush on July 21, 1945 in Dallas, Texas and she preceded him in death March 3, 2008. He then later married Betty Drain in 2009 in Farmersville, Texas. Pinky was a graduate of SMU Law School in Dallas, Texas, was a veteran of WWII and served in the United States Army and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmersville, Texas, the Farmersville Masonic Lodge and the Farmersville Eastern Star.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Farmersville, Texas, Sons; John C. Peurifoy Jr. and wife Joan of Dallas, Texas, Robert E Peurifoy and wife Victoria of Daytona Beach, Florida. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren 2 step grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Farmersville, Texas with Dr. Bart Barber officiating and a visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the Church Friday. Private family graveside services were held at Merit Cemetery.
