John Wayne Clark

John Wayne Clark, age 82, passed away on June 13, 2026, at his home in Frisco, Texas. John was born to Dr. Clayton and Mary Clark on October 10, 1943, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

John grew up in Nashua, Iowa, where he was active in sports, student council, and Boy Scouts, proudly earning the distinction of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Nashua High School in 1962 and from the University of Iowa in 1966.

John enlisted in the Marine Corps to serve his country in the Vietnam War in 1966. He married Barbara Tucker in December 1966 and shortly thereafter, was sent to Camp LeJeune for Officer Candidate School. After serving in Vietnam for 13 months, John continued for several years in stateside assignments, earning the rank of Captain. He remained a proud Marine all his life, embodying the Marine Corps values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment in everything he did.

John spent his entire working career in the insurance industry, beginning with Prudential in Chicago in 1970. After moving to Texas in 1977, he and Barbara founded their own company, Tucker & Clark, Inc., which they successfully led for 18 years. John concluded his career as a partner at Lifetime Benefits, LLC, retiring in 2025.

Throughout the past 13 years, John bravely fought and survived three cancers. He never complained and often said that God was in charge. John always prioritized and cherished his three daughters and their families, considering them to be his greatest legacy.

John is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughters, Laura Frawley and her husband, David; Becky Mediaceja and her husband, Jose; and Melissa Henricks and her husband, Jeff; his grandchildren, Ellen, Mark, Katharine, and Scotty Frawley; Giselle, Allie, Joey, and Annabelle Mediaceja; and Kristen and Will Henricks; his brother, Bob Clark and his wife, Debby; his sisters, Marcia Todd and Julia Salmon and her husband, Mike; and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Clayton and Mary Clark, and his niece, Mary Todd.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Frisco Global Methodist Church, 7659 Preston Rd, Frisco, Texas 75034. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
