John Riley Myers, age 71, of Celina, Texas, passed away December 30, 2017. John was born October 27, 1946, in Waco, Texas, to John Smith and Mary Lee (Weathersby) Myers. He married Dorothy Louise Linman, on March 25, 1967, in Harlingen, Texas.
John was a loving family man who enjoyed living a simple country life. He had a warm smile for everyone who walked into Bobcat Kuntry where he worked for many years with his dear friends, Teena and E.L. Marks. He relished the lively conversations that centered around the subject of Bobcat football.
John's life revolved around his family. He always supported his wife, Dottie, in her dedication to her students and their activities at Celina Junior High. He had an unwavering pride in his son, Bobby, and encouraged him in all his endeavors.
He will be fondly remembered by all those whose lives he touched.
John is survived by his loving wife, Dottie Myers of Celina, Texas; son, Bobby Myers of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sister, Nancy Welch and her husband Robin of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Mike Myers of Twin Falls, Idaho; sister-in-law, Kathy Buckner, of Gunter, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Lee Myers, and his brother, Bill Myers.
