John Owen Eickhoff, age 77, of The Colony, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022. He was born in Falls City, Nebraska, on November 23, 1944, to Alice Gwendelyn (Camblin) and Ervin John Eickhoff. John was a US Navy Vietnam Combat Veteran and served on the US Constellation. After leaving the Navy, John made his way to the state of Texas. Here he met and married the love of his life, DeLoris “Dee” Kay Cole, in Dallas on September 12, 1970, and together they raised two beautiful daughters. John earned his associate degree and had a successful career as a mortgage banker in the finance industry. John enjoyed his family, friends, fishing, “Westerns”, and John Wayne. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. John was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Dee Eickhoff; his daughters, Missi Palmore and her husband, Jeffery, of Frisco, Texas, and Jenni Diggs and her husband, Les, of Lewisville, Texas; his brother, Roger Eickhoff and his wife, Karen, of Missouri; his grandchildren, Tayler (John), Tiffany (Colin), Austin (Molly), Ashley (Cesar), Cory, Alyssa (Emily), Nick (Sheila), Ely, Chad, Ethan, Cade, Emily, Donald, and Andrew; his great-grandchildren, Maddox, Sofia, Sarai, Noah, Keagan, Cesar Jr., Aria, Peyton, Noah, Remi, Cora, and Carson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Mary Ellen, Rholene, Georgia Ann, and Alice Kay, and his brothers, Donavon, and Merle.
Family and friends are invited to a Visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas, 75033, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 27, 2022, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, Texas, 75033.
