John Michael Suckling, age 77, of Lucas, Texas, passed away on June 4, 2017. He was born April 6, 1940, in England, to Frederick Charles and Constance Maude (Stone) Suckling. On October 26, 1963, John married Carol Brundell, in England. He was raised in England and served in the Royal Merchant Navy. John later moved to Allen, Texas in 1974, where he raised his family. He was a successful business owner, owning and operating a paint contracting business for many years. John was a member of First Baptist Church of Allen.
He is survived by his children, Paul Suckling and wife Bernadette of Lucas, Texas, Rachel Whiteaker of The Colony, Texas; grandchildren, Patricia Aulbaugh and husband Jon, Tiffany Whiteaker, Brooke Whiteaker, Shayne Matthews, Trevor Suckling and Preston Suckling; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Jon-Jon, Gracie, Braydon, Daymion, Kamrynn and Adalynn; sisters, Maureen Regan and Janet Moore; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Charles and Constance Maude Suckling; wife, Carol Heather Christabel Suckling; and sister, Sylvia Lehew.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2017, at Fitzhugh Cemetery, 2542 Country Club Road, Lucas, Texas 75002. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
