John Leslie Cook, Sr. was born April 8, 1940 in Capac, Michigan to Duane I. Cook and Mildred Lela Yoder Cook. He passed away peacefully with family at his side on January 3, 2023 in Denison, Texas.
John married the love of his life, Marian Loretta Hill on May 23, 1957 in Imlay City, Michigan. Together they raised a family. John was very good with his hands and could do most anything he set out to do. If you could think it, he could make it. His skills lead him in many directions and he was always involved in his children and grand children’s lives wherever that lead him. He never asked for himself, but ask what he could do for you to the very end. He was a wonderful soul and will be missed dearly by all. May God wrap him in his arms for us and carry him to heaven.
John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marian Cook of Whitewright; son, Leslie Cook and wife Ruthie of Louisiana; daughter, Terry Bullard and husband Monty of Florida; son, Timothy Cook of Michigan; daughter-in-law, Patricia Cook of Van Alstyne; son, Randall Cook, Sr. and wife Gwen of Azle; son, Bradley Cook and wife Kimberly of Dallas; son, John Cook, Jr. and wife Amy of Whitewright; Duane Cook and wife Jonna of Carthage; grandchildren, Ann Presley (James), Rachel Zuniga (Steve), Jamie Roberts (Sean), Josh Cook, Jody Wheeler, Kristina Cook, Randall Cook Jr. (Alex), Robert Cook, Tim Armour (Natonia), Krystal Zimmerman (Dwayne), Bradley Cook Jr., Cathy Beck (Brian), Jonathan Cook, Lachelle Freshour (Derrick), Jami Green (Brady), Haley O’Leary (Terry), Matthew; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Bruce Cook of Mobile, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his sons, Robert Wayne Cook and Mark Robert Cook; parents; brothers, Duane Cook and Mark Cook.
