John Joseph Sasso, age 55, of Little Elm, Texas, passed away on February 14, 2017. He was born March 11, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois to Louis and Carol (Sheriff) Sasso. On May 15, 1982, John married Theresa Grice in Downey, California. He was a 1979 graduate of Downey High School. John owned an Italian deli with his parents, where he worked as a butcher for several years. He later worked as a district manager in the uniform business. John served as commissioner in several fantasy football leagues and loved fish tanks. His best memories were of taking cruises and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Sasso of Little Elm, Texas; children, Brandon Sasso and wife Leslie of Plano, Texas, Amanda Sasso Snyder and husband Kevin of Little Elm, Texas; grandchildren, Dylan, Madison, Layla Allyson and brothers, Michael Sasso of Boise, Idaho, George Sasso of Chino, California, Louis Sasso of Lake Forest, California and Ron Sasso of Whittier, California; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Carol Sasso and grandmother, Francis Sheriff.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
