John L. Jarvis, age 75, of Whitewright, Texas, died Monday, October 15, 2007, at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. John was born on November 17, 1931 in Whitewright to George and Jewell (Denton) Jarvis. He married Betty England on January 27, 1967 in Whitewright. He was a retired farmer and retired employee of Verizon. He was a member of Kentuckytown Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jarvis of Whitewright; two daughters, Tanya Maxwell and husband Richard of Garland, and Trena Jarvis of Dallas; two grandsons, John Maxwell of Wylie and Matt Maxwell of Garland, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Paul Jarvis. Services will be held Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Kentuckytown Baptist Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Greg Allen of Kentuckytown Baptist Church and Rev. David Hougham. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright. A visitation will be held Friday, October 19, 2007 from 7-8pm at Earnheart Funeral Home in Whitewright. Pallbearers will be John Maxwell, Matt Maxwell, Frank Davis, Tyler Davis, Eddie Deeds, and Roy Nelson.
