He was predeceased by his parents; George and Fernande (Lescroart) Lawler, and his four siblings; George Lawler, Gene Lawler, Mary Dwyer, and Dennis Lawler.
In Teaneck he attended Trinity Catholic School and many of his classmates were his lifelong friends. After graduation he joined the Airforce and proudly served in the Korean War 1950-1954. As a Staff Sergeant and Radio Operator it was so meaningful to him to fly the wounded soldiers home from battle. Honorably discharged Jack graduated from Fordham University earning a degree in Business with a major in Marketing.
He then headed west to Denver taking a sales job with Heinson’s Printing. He married Sharon, his wonderful wife on May 14, 1960, and they have enjoyed 62 years of life, kids, and travel. He was in sales in the printing industry for 50 years. This long career allowed Jack and family to live in California, Colorado, New York, New Jersey, finally settling in Texas. He gathered so many friends along the way and had many places to visit. He was passionate about photography and traveling the world with his job and family. He would get home from one trip and would be so happy to immediately start planning his next adventure.
At 78 he took up painting and loved to capture the beautiful places he visited. He shared his paintings and techniques with his family and gave special attention to welcoming each great grandchild with a painting. Jack enjoyed his membership in the Heritage Ranch Art Club and looked forward to their “critiques”. He would always say, “You are never too old to learn”.
He was the family storyteller and used his wonderful wit and sound effects to make you feel like you were living the story with him. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered at the Samaritan Inn. He is survived by his wife Sharon of 62 years, his 5 children; Sharon Walther (John), Mary Regen, Karen Cramer, John Lawler, and Mark Lawler (Stephanie), 13 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
