John Hugh Holden, Jr.

March 24, 1931 - October 7, 2019

John Hugh Holden, Jr. of Sulphur Springs, Texas formerly of Princeton, Texas passed away October 7, 2019 at the age of 88.  He was born on March 24, 1931 to John Hugh Holden, Sr. and Lula Holden in Palmer, Texas. Hugh married Jane Whaley on August 2, 1971 and faithfully cared for her for many years after her stroke.  He worked for the historic K Wolen’s Department Store for over 36 years, many of which were in McKinney, Texas.  Hugh was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved his dogs.  He most loved and adored his family and grandchildren.

Hugh is survived by his son, Ed Lantz and wife, Lisa of Sulphur Springs, Texas; daughters, Karen Beaty and husband, Larry of Princeton, Texas and Kari Patton and husband, James Alan of Silverton, Texas;  grandchildren, Christopher Beaty and wife, Amanda of Princeton, Texas, Bryce Patton of Siverton, Texas, Blaine Patton of Silverton, Texas, Nick Lantz of Dallas, Texas and Lucas Lantz of Sulphur Springs, Texas; great-grandchild, Callahan; many other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Holden; parents, John and Lula Holden; and daughter, Katherine Lantz.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2019 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

My sincere condolences on Hugh's passing. I always think of him every time that I see a Weimaraner. A saint of a man who put up with ALL of us kids!
