John Edwards Steffens, Sr. of Farmersville, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the age of 60.
John was born in Dimmitt, Texas on December 1, 1961 to the late Ralph and Regina Steffens. John graduated from Nazareth High School and later received a trade degree from Devry University. After graduation he went on to work in telecommunications for Nortel and Ericsson companies totaling 41 years. While working in his first year he met the love of his life and later wife Sherri Lynn Steffens. He became the proud father of two children, John Edward Steffens and Keeley Lorraine Steffens. John was an avid bee keeper and accomplished gardener. He spent most of his time outdoors hunting, fishing, and playing (struggling) on the golf course. John was an active member in the community and church alongside his wife Sherri. He had a devotion to his family and friends unmatched by any other; if you were ever in need of a helping hand you could find one in John. He is remembered for his kind heart, willingness to help others, and infectious laugh. John was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Louis Steffens, Sr. and Regina Steffens, his brother Ralph Steffens, Jr., and his sister Rosie Steffens. He is survived by his wife Sherri Steffens, his children John and Keeley Steffens, his granddaughter Serena Steffens and his siblings, Janey Anderson, Judy Brax, Edward Steffens, Billy Steffens, and Barbie Chapman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
