John Bruce Eager of Southlake, Texas passed away on February 15, 2017 at the age of 66. He was born on May 17, 1950 to Al and Mozelle (Turrentine) Eager in Nashville, Tennessee. John married Lori Squires on January 22, 1992 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. He graduated Navy flight training in 1974. John was assigned to the F-14 Tomcat with the first group of students to go directly from Navy flight training to the F-14. He was awarded Student Naval Aviator of the Year in 1974. John proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from American Airlines after 34 years of service as a 777 Captain/Check Airman.
John is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Lori Eager of Southlake, Texas; daughters, Ali Eager of Southlake, Texas, Johnnelle Clark and husband, Lance of Heber Springs, Arkansas; sons, Mike Eager of Las Vegas, Nevada, John Jacob Eager and wife, Emily, Ryan Eager and wife, Gwen, all of Houston, Texas, and Chase Eager of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Abagaile Eager, Phoebe Switzer, Elin Eager, John Eager, Murphy Eager, Duke Eager; brother, Michael Eager of Longview, Texas; and numerous other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Al Eager; mother, Mozelle Kemendo; and step-father, John J. Kemendo.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas.
