John Brown, Jr., age 82, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on September 2, 2015. He was born on September 23, 1932 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Cyrena (Watkins) and John Brown. John served in the United States Air Force for 24 years, retiring as SMSgt. After his military service, he became a history teacher for Judson Middle School. A devoted family man and true gentleman, He loved God, history, jazz and The Spurs.
John is survived by his wife, Dolly Ann (Collins) Brown of San Antonio, Texas; two children, Cheryl Berger and her husband, USAF Major (Ret.) Alton Berger of Douglasville, Georgia and Kevin Brown and his wife, Georgina of Lewisville, Texas; nine grandchildren, Veronica Onyema and her husband Gozie of Silver Springs, Maryland, Tylen Brown and her husband Andrew of Frisco, Texas, Alexander Brown and his wife, Annie of Denver, Colorado, Samantha Berger of New York, New York, Nathan Berger of Tucson, Arizona, Colin Brown of Denton, Texas, Madalyn Brown of Lewisville, Texas, Matthew Fikac and his wife, Lori of Conroe, Texas and Michael Fikac of Houston, Texas; two step-brothers, Herman Brown and Roy Brown of Oakland, California. John is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Walter Brown and sister, Peggy King.
Family and friends are invited to a Visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco Texas 75033, on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 10:00AM with Pastor Joel Scrivner officiating. Internment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park in Frisco.
