Johanna May Kroeger of Allen, Texas passed away on August 19, 2021 at the age of 79. She was born on September 12, 1941 to Elbert Hilles and Laura Ann (Remondini) Loyd in Chicago, Illinois. Johanna graduated from Lion’s Township High School in LaGrange, Illinois. She married Robert Kroeger on July 3, 1972 in Cook County, Illinois. Together, they raised two children in Illinois before they moved to Plano in 1981. She’s been an active member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Allen for the last 8 years. Her family remembers her love to redecorate and remodel her home’s interior. Johanna was a fantastic artist who loved to draw and paint, which influenced her daughter to follow her in her own art path as a photographer. She was also a talented and dedicated gardener.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Kroeger and husband, Christopher Hoffman, Scott Kroeger and wife, YanHong “Kathy”; brother, Elbert Loyd; sister-in-law, Diane Kroeger; cousins, Terri Shovald and Karen Wales; very good friend, Bill Tillerson; and many friends; and surviving cousins and extended family in Michigan and throughout the country.
Johanna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dale Kroeger; parents, Elbert and Laura Loyd.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 821 S. Greenville Avenue in Allen. The service will be live-streamed on the Christ the Servant Lutheran Church Facebook page.
