IN LOVING MEMORY

Joel Kenneth Beckman

Jun 01 1970 - Apr 08 2025

Joel Kenneth Beckman, 54, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Joel was born on June 1, 1970, in Rochester, New York, to Maynard and Theresa Beckman. In 1972, the Beckman family moved to Plano, Texas, where Joel spent the rest of his life building deep roots, strong friendships, and a beautiful legacy of love and laughter.

A proud graduate of Plano Senior High School, Class of 1989, Joel was known for his quick wit, big heart, and his ability to bring a smile to any room. He married the love of his life, Lisa Beckman, on November 13, 2004. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and their greatest joy — their daughter, Kayla. Joel was a devoted husband and a proud, loving father who found immense happiness in his role as “Dad.".

Joel had a tireless work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit. In 1995, he founded Beckman Commercial Cleaning, a construction cleaning company built on reliability and integrity. In 2015, he expanded his business with the creation of Beckman Commercial Construction, offering residential roofing and remodeling services. Through both ventures, Joel built not only a successful career but also countless friendships with clients, coworkers, and community members.

He had many passions — coaching and playing golf, restoring vintage cars and motorcycles, cooking for his family, and cheering on his Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. Joel was the kind of man who could fix almost anything, make anyone laugh, and brighten the hardest days with his steady presence and his signature sense of humor.

One of Joel’s most admirable qualities was his loyalty to his family. He lovingly cared for both of his parents in their later years, managing his father’s care for the last 3 years with compassion and attention, and honoring the memory of his mother, Theresa Beckman, after her passing. His devotion as a son reflected the deep sense of responsibility and love that defined who he was.

Joel is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Lisa Beckman; his adored daughter, Kayla Beckman; his father, Maynard Beckman, his brother, Eric Beckman; and many extended family members, friends, colleagues, and clients who were touched by his kindness and generosity. He was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Beckman.

A celebration of Joel’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. In honor of Joel, the family encourages attendees to come as they are — maybe even in a Steelers cap — and bring a memory or story to share.

Memorial donations may be made in Joel’s memory to Make a Donation | Gary Sinise Foundation, or by doing an act of kindness in his honor — just as he would have done.

Joel lived by faith, worked with integrity, and loved with his whole heart. Psalm 23 was one of his favorites — and we find peace in knowing that goodness and mercy followed him all his days, and that he now dwells in the house of the Lord forever.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered, always.
