Joe Don McCorkle (Joe Don), 72, of Frankston, TX, went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord Jesus on Thursday, August 25, 2016. Joe Don was born on November 23, 1943, in Vaiden, MS, to the late Lillian (Welch) and Joe Gee McCorkle. He graduated in 1961 from Vaiden High School in Vaiden, MS, and went to the University of Mississippi “Ole Miss” where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1967. In 1973 he acquired his Master of Business Administration degree at Mississippi College in Clinton, MS. For the majority of his working career, Joe Don served as a leader in the Heating and Air Conditioning market.
Joe Don was just starting his career with Westinghouse in Sharon, PA. when he met the love of his life, Carol Ann Freund, in 1967. They were a blind date that barely survived the language barrier between a Southern Ole Miss graduate and a “Yankee”. They were married on July 6th, 1968. And then 48 years of marriage later……Joe Don, a faithful servant of our Lord, loved to hear the old Baptist worship classics at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, TX.
Joe Don is survived by his wife Carol; son Joe and wife Shannon of Frisco, TX; daughter Amy of Frisco, TX; 3 grandchildren: Aaron, Austin and Andrew, all of Frisco, TX; and his brothers Larry of Vaiden, MS and Wayne of Winona, MS.
