Joe D. Barnes, age 77, passed away July 14, 2025, in Bedford, Texas. He was born on September 2, 1947, in California, to his loving mother, Eva M. (Sedar) Barnes.
Joe grew up in California, where he attended local schools. He played saxophone in his California high school and Pasadena City College marching bands and marched in the Rose Bowl Parade. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. His career was primarily in sales within the air compressor industry. He retired in 2012 and found a passion for cooking. He used to fly airplanes and enjoyed fishing.
Joe met the love of his life, Karen Jean Jones, and on their wedding day, November 21, 1969, they celebrated their life-long love and commitment to each other in Dallas, Texas. Raising their daughter Julie brought them many years of joy and countless cherished memories.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Julie Hogan, and grandson, Truett Hogan, both of Euless, Texas; and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss him dearly and fondly cherish his memory.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen, and parents.
