JoAnne Reagan Duncan was born July 22, 1940 in Sherman, Texas to Josiah Ed Reagan and Anna Maye Todd Reagan. She married Gary Jon Duncan on July 14, 1979 in Dallas, Texas. She passed away on November 1, 2021 at her home in Trenton, Texas with her husband by her side at the age of 81 years.
JoAnne was a lifelong educator. She graduated with her Bachelors of Education in 1960 from East Texas State University and then in 1967 with her Masters of Education. She taught and was an administrator for over 30 years for the Dallas ISD. She was the Elementary School Principal in Trenton for several years. She also served on the Trenton School Board for many years up until 2019.
JoAnne and Gary loved to travel. After retiring they travelled all over the United States and the world, Canada, all the European countries, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Russia, Egypt, and the Caribbean.
JoAnne served her community as a volunteer for CASA of Fannin County for over 10 years, mentoring many children. For many years she was the President of the Indian Creek Cemetery Association. She was a member of the Crossroads Presbyterian Church.
JoAnne is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gary Duncan of Trenton; sister-in-law, Doris Reagan Dunn of Trenton; nephew, Todd Reagan of Trenton; step-daughter, Cheri Boener of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; grandchildren, Haley Boener, and Douglas Gammill (Rhonda); great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Degan Gammill; numerous cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Reagan; and step-son, Jon Duncan.
A visitation will be held 6-8PM Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
Graveside Services will be held 10AM Friday, November 5, 2021 at Indian Creek Cemetery, Leonard, Texas. Memorial Services will follow at 12:00PM Friday, November 5, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas. Rev. Scott Leslie will officiate the services. The recorded version will be available on the same link after the service.
