JoAnn Moore McClung finally found peace and comfort with our Lord on October 15, 2007 at the age of 36. She passed away at Medical City Hospital in Dallas, Texas after a brief but valiant fight with cancer. JoAnn was first and foremost a Christian of strong faith and a dedicated servant of our wonderful Lord. JoAnn was also the loving and dedicated wife of Chris McClung, as well as the adoring mother of two precious boys, Grayson, 7, and Davis, 3. JoAnn was born as an only child in Austin, Texas on February 22, 1971 to wonderful parents, Gary and Marilyn Moore of Austin, Texas with whom she shared a life long loving and close relationship. She was raised in South Austin where she loved to spend time with her many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She graduated from Crockett High School in 1989, attended Texas A&M University and then graduated in 1995 from University of Texas at Dallas with a BS in Psychology. JoAnn and Chris were married on May 3, 1997 and just celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. Throughout their marriage JoAnn and Chris lived in Austin, Hutchison, Kansas, and finally found their home in Frisco, Texas about 6 years ago. Everywhere they lived JoAnn touched lives and made life-long friends. JoAnn enjoyed playing golf, softball, as well as fishing with her husband and boy’s. She loved to volunteer and spend time with her beloved church, First Baptist Frisco, but most of all, she loved to volunteer and spend time at her family. Her boys were the most important thing on earth to her. They loved to travel as a family, but by far, JoAnn’s favorite vacation spot was Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. JoAnn, Chris and the boy’s spent time at Disney once or twice a year because it always made JoAnn feel like a little girl again and she truly believed it was “the happiest place on earth”.
JoAnn was loved by many people, including her many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews; including her God Parents Shirley & Sid Mueller: her in-laws-Mike and Barbara McClung & Mitch and Katie Fickey; and her many friends at church, including many close girlfriends she loved to spend her free time with as well as countless others who touched her life at First Baptist Church of Frisco. JoAnn was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Edna Cole & Lorene Gebert Moore, grandfather Clyde Moore, and her aunt, Gloria Cole Frazier. JoAnn had an incredible heart and loved to serve others, even in the midst of her own trials. She loved to make people laugh and would have inspiration to all who came in contact with her. She loved the Lord and is sitting beside Him now. She was beyond measure and will be eternally missed by all whom she touched.
