Joan Elizabeth (Lankford) Tobin of Plano, Texas passed away on March 9, 2017 at the age of 75. She was born on May 13, 1941 to Thomas Woodrow and Marianna Elizabeth (Bezanson) Lankford in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Joan moved to Ceres, California in 1945 and graduated from Ceres Unified High School in 1959.
She married in 1962 and lived in Modesto for many years where she spent most of her career working as a title officer for Chicago Title (formerly Safeco Title). She moved to Plano, Texas in 1996 to be close to her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Joan was a member of the Waterview Church of Christ in Richardson, where she was very involved and was one of the original members of the Sisters in Service Ministry that she loved so much.
Joan enjoyed traveling and sewing, but most of all, spending time with her two precious grandchildren “making memories” as she always used to say. She loved being a Nana and said it was one of the greatest joys of her life.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Kim Feaster and husband, Clark of Plano, Texas; son, Michael Tobin and wife, Cheryl of Modesto, California; grandchildren, Ryan Feaster and Brittney Feaster; brother, Tommy Lankford and wife, Bobbie of Osage Beach, Missouri; sisters, Phyllis Hernlund of Nashville, Tennessee, Frances McKibben and husband, Michael of Turlock, California and Kathy Holt and husband, Tim of Ceres, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Sidney Lankford.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Waterview Church of Christ in Richardson, Texas.
