Jo Bolin

February 11, 1931 - July 10, 2020

Jo Bolin of Allen, Texas passed away on July 10, 2020. She was born on February 11, 1931 to James Wesley and Foy (Finch) Duncan in Lamesa, Texas.  Jo married Kenneth O. Bolin on September 14, 1950 in Allen, Texas.  She worked at the Lake Lavon Baptist Encampment for 35 years.  Jo was co-donor of the land for Bolin Elementary School.  She was a member of Allen Heights Baptist Church in Allen, Texas.

She is survived by her sons, Bobby Bolin and wife, Betty of Allen, Texas and Benny Bolin and wife, Kim of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Jerad Bolin and wife, Chrissy of Allen, Texas, Erica Weseman and husband, Nick of Houston, Texas, and Brandon Bolin and wife, Tori of Lewisville, Texas; great grandchildren, Tristan, Sophia, Jacob, and Noah;  and numerous other loving family and friends.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bolin; daughter, Dorcas Lynette; and parents, James and Foy Duncan.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 13, 2020 at Allen Heights Baptist Church, 1309 East Main Street in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Rowlett Cemetery in Allen, Texas. A “come and go” visitation will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.

Jo Bolin was such a kind and gracious pillar of the community, and she loved her family and Bolin Elementary very much. She and her husband, Kenneth, touched so many lives, including my own.
