Funeral Services for Jo Willa Bradley Pierson, 100 year old Celeste resident, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday July 30, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Celeste. Brothers Jim Sherwin and Bob Layman, along with Mrs. Pierson’s nephew, Brother Barry Bradley, will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Whitewright. Family visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday July 29, 2014 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard.
Mrs. Pierson was born June 20, 1914 at Leonard. Her parents were Lon and Lena Elizabeth Ready Bradley. She was a 1932 graduate of Leonard High School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Celeste since 1943. She taught Sunday School from the age of 16 to 98. She was a member of the Thursday Club and the Coffee Club and she worked at J.R. Love manufacturing for approximately 30 years. She married Mack A. Pierson October 17, 1934 at Whitewright and they shared life together for 64 ½ years before his passing in 1999.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Mickey and Carole Pierson of Wagner; her daughter and son-in-law: Martha Jo and David Campbell of Van Alstyne; her grandchildren: Elizabeth and Kevin Westbrook of Carrollton, Scott and Karin Campbell of McKinney, Brad and Karen Pierson of Caddo Mills and Doug Campbell of Denton; her great grandchildren: Rachel, Hannah, Abbie and Luke Campbell of McKinney, Isaiah and Mikayla Pierson of Caddo Mills and Eva Westbrook of Carrollton; her sister-in-law: Marilyn Bradley of Denison; her brothers-in-law: Kelly and Louise Pierson of Pottsboro and Lyndal and Betty Pierson of Garland. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Lee Bradley, and a brother, Lon Ready Bradley.
