IN LOVING MEMORY

JJ Hatcher

Dec 21 2006 - Dec 18 2022

Jason Dewayne Hatcher,Jr. (JJ) was born on December 21, 2006, in Carrollton, Texas to Jason and Natasha Hatcher. He spent most of his life in Carrollton, Texas. In 2014 he moved to Ashburn, VA and lived there for 2 years.

JJ attended preschool at Castle Hills Montessori and Spanish Schoolhouse. After preschool, he attended Castle Hills Elementary in Lewisville and Stewart Weller Elementary in Ashburn, VA. In 2016, the family moved back to Texas, and he spent a short time at Homestead Elementary before moving on to Arbor Creek.

While in Elementary and Middle school, JJ played sports for many teams and was a member of the Arbor Creek Band. His favorite sports were football, baseball, and basketball. He excelled in the classroom and in any sporting event he participated in. And when we say excelled, we mean super. He was a real-life superman, flying around everywhere. Literally. If you know, you know. Some of his little league teams were Cowboys little league football team, The Colony Cougars, Five Star, Dallas Mustangs, Frozen Ropes, and he guest played with many teams.

JJ followed his siblings by attending their alma mater Hebron High School his freshman and sophomore year. He was a student, friend and athlete. His talents were infinite, his work ethic unmatched and his soul was pure. He played for the Hebron Hawks basketball, baseball, and football teams. He would always say, “sports is life”. He busied himself by playing on club teams when he wasn’t doing school sports. He played for the Arkansas Sticks (Baseball), DFW Pride (7on7), and Texas Epic (7on7).

JJ was also a superhuman. He loved his Parents, Siblings, Grandparents, extended family, friends that were family, friends, parents of his friends and siblings of his friends like no other. His smile would light up any room. He was a light in this world, lighting up rooms, and using his special heart to love on everyone. His teammates and coaches also meant the world to him. He was always working to be better individually and working with others to collectively be better.

Jason Dewayne Hatcher, Jr, passed away on December 18, 2022 at the young age of 15 in Plano, TX. JJ left to cherish his memory his parents, Jason and Natasha Hatcher, Sr. of Carrollton, Texas; siblings, Carlos, Tamia, Boston, and Journee, all of Carrollton, Texas; grandmother, Dianne Beard; grandfather, John Jenkins; and great grandmother, Mercidean Beard. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother, Jase Hatcher and Jane Jones Hatcher.

We will miss our beloved JJ. Our lives changed forever and though the future is tough, it is also bright. JJ touched so many in his earthly 15 years, we are all blessed to have experienced him, his love, his wit, his singing, his dancing, his athleticism, and his faithfulness to God. He was an example to us all.

We’d like to thank everyone for your prayers, flowers, food, visits, acts of service and more importantly for loving our son. Follow this link to JJ's memorial service; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ztcNSDmikk.
