Jimmy Lee Vaughan

Jimmy Lee Vaughan of McKinney, Texas passed away on July 2, 2018 at the age of 77.  He was born on September 16, 1940 to Wallace and Faye (Gammons) Vaughan in McKinney, Texas. Jimmy was raised in McKinney where he graduated from McKinney High School in 1959.  He spent most of his career in supervision working for Texas Instruments and later worked for McKinney ISD.  He married Shirley Mae Kehm on September 12, 2009. Jimmy enjoyed being outdoors hunting, farming, working with his cows, racing, and he always enjoyed driving his Dodge truck.  He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of McKinney, and it was a very important part of his life. 

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Shirley Vaughan of McKinney, Texas; sons, Randy Vaughan and wife, Brenda of McKinney, Texas, Brad Vaughan and partner, Garrett Arzate of Dallas, Texas, and Lance Vaughan and wife, Karen of Anna, Texas; daughter, Debbie Mooney and husband, Chris of Mineola, Texas; grandchildren, Brandi Vaughan, Keith Vaughan and wife, Madelyn, Ronna Boyd and husband, Josh, Whitney Vaughan, Wesley Vaughan, Lexi Winchell, Dustin Winchell and Joey Mooney; great-grandchildren, Hannah Vaughan, Sawyer Boyd and Tucker Boyd; sisters, Betty Husband of Fowler, Kansas and Bobbie Swanner and husband, Ardell of McKinney, Texas; step-children, Michelle Bechtel and husband, Jon, Tracy Halligan and husband, Kevin, Sheree Davis and husband, John, and Steve Kehm; step-grandchildren, Ryan Bechtel, Katy Bechtel, Emma Halligan, Max Halligan, Molly Halligan, Haley Davis, and Ashlyn Davis; and many other nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Vaughan who passed away in 1998; his parents, Wallace and Faye Vaughan; Oscar and Lela Stevens; and his great-grandson, Hudson Oliver Boyd.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 9, 2018 at First Baptist Church of McKinney, 1615 West Louisiana Street, McKinney, Texas 75069.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during visitation Sunday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  

The family would like to thank Mary Poole and the staff at The Cottages at Chapel Creek for their love and caring through the last year and a half.
