Jimmy Doyle McFarland

April 7, 1949 - June 9, 2021

Jimmy Doyle McFarland of Melissa, Texas formerly of McKinney, Texas passed away June 9, 2021 at the age of 72.  He was born on April 7, 1949 to Robert Edward McFarland and Gayle (Hanson) McFarland in McKinney. Jimmy was a 1967 graduate of McKinney High School.  He married Paula Jean Sexton on November 26, 1973 in Princeton, Texas.  Jimmy was a Maintenance Supervisor for Texas Department of Transportation.  He loved operating ham radio, golfing, and fishing.  Jimmy loved his family.  He was of the Baptist faith.

Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Paula Jean McFarland of Melissa, Texas; son, Shane McFarland and wife, Summer of Van Alstyne, Texas; grandchildren, Makayla, Makinzie, and Shane Austin; sisters, Jeanie Vandergriff of Georgia and Diana McFarland of Bonham, Texas; brothers, Roger McFarland and wife, Angie of McKinney, Texas and Ritchy McFarland and wife, Sheila of Bonham, Texas; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. McFarland; mother, Gayle D. McFarland; and sister, Debby (McFarland) Burr.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive visitors Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.

I am so sorry to hear of Jimmy passing into the hands of our Lord. Heaven received a precious angel. I hope you can find peace knowing he is no longer in pain and is resting peacefully.
