Jimmie Lee Stewart, of Allen, Texas, formerly of Richardson, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at the age of 91.
Jimmie was born February 22, 1934 in Girard Township, Pennsylvania, to his parents, Irvin Stewart and Fama Stevens. He was united in marriage to Ruth M. (Peggy) Daub on December 5, 1958 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania and together they shared many years of love and companionship.
He lived a long life marked by dedication to his family, his church and his love of various activities in his community. He was an outgoing person and loved talking to people. These traits made him an excellent salesman. He enjoyed working on cars and did most of his own car repairs. He built many electronic products from Heathkit. His professional career selling computers took him to various companies including Raytheon, Data General, Interdata and Perkin Elmer in Tennessee, New Hampshire, Tulsa and Dallas. After working for Digital Equipment in Dallas, he retired in 1992.
Music was always a big part of Jimmie’s life. He sang in church choirs over the years and played clarinet and tenor saxophone in the Dallas and Plano New Horizons bands. He was a volunteer for the Richardson Police Department. He loved racing with Texas Region SCCA Autocross Club. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Jimmie is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Stewart, of Allen, Texas; his daughters, Pamela Villarreal and her husband Steven of Plano, Texas, and Lisa Black and her husband Barton of Allen, Texas; and his cherished grandsons, Jeff Black and Tim Black.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, at Parkview Independent Living, 1451 South Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas.
