Jimmie Jeff Rutherford passed away on May 2, 2019 at the age of 86 in McKinney, Texas. He was born on September 29, 1932 to Jeff Rutherford and Irene (Clinton) Rutherford in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Jimmie was a 1957 graduate of the University of New Mexico and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1954.
He married Nona Mae Wallace on October 14, 1955 in Albuquerque, New Mexico where they made their home and had two children. They also resided in Centreville, Maryland, El Paso, Texas; Las Cruces New, Mexico and McKinney Texas.
Jimmie was a Certified Public Accountant who started his career with Peat Marwick Mitchell in 1956. He went on to work for United Nuclear Corporation from 1963 to 1964 and Elmer Fox and Company from 1970 to 1976 where he was named a partner. In 1976, Jimmie started the accounting firm Bock Rutherford and Company with his partner, John Bock and retired full time in 2002. He was a lifelong member of the Baptist church where he served faithfully as a deacon and in many other volunteer positions. His faith was an integral part of his life.
Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nona Rutherford of McKinney, Texas; son, Randy Rutherford and wife, Leigh and granddaughter, Emma , all of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Laurie Rutherford Haese and husband, Tim of Plano, Texas; granddaughter, Hannah Haese Bergman and husband, Tanner and great granddaughter, Eilee, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two brothers, John Rutherford of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Paul Rutherford and wife, Susie of Henderson, Nevada and children; sister and brother in law, Mary and Kyle Williams of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nephews, Rick Williams and wife, Melody and their two daughters and David Williams and his son; and niece, Sandi and husband, Tarie and children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucille; sister-in-law, Barbara; nephew, Ronnie; niece, Erica; and in-laws, Tom and Nancy Wallace.
A private family burial will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
