Jimmie Carroll Cox, age 69 of Gunter, Texas passed away on September 22, 2008 in Sherman, Texas. She was born on March 12, 1939 in Tyler, Texas to Carl A. and Jimmie Louise (Browning) McFarland. She graduated from Tyler High School and went on to attend Texas Woman’s University in Denton. Jimmie worked as a Clerk with the City of Sherman Police Department. She is survived by her children, Carla Monk and husband, Jackie of Carlton, Texas, Jim Cox, Jr. and wife, Patty of Gillette, Wyoming, Melissa Taylor and husband, Hal of Palestine, Texas; ex-husband, James Cox, Sr. of Gillette, Wyoming; grandchildren, Justin Monk and wife, Monica, Jeremy Taylor and wife, Sarah, Garrett Monk, Morgan Taylor, Brittnie Taylor; great-grandsons, Kaleb Taylor and Cameron Taylor; brother and sister-in-law, Reggie and Deloris McFarland of Alba, Texas. The family will receive friends at a Visitation to be held on Friday, September 26, 2008 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 300 Pecan Street, Gunter, TX 75058 beginning at 6:30 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Gunter Cemetery in Gunter, Texas.
