Jimmie L. (Wayne) Bailey, 86 of McKinney, Texas, passed away August 26, 2011. He was born December 11, 1924 to Luther and Dora (Mitchell) Bailey. Jimmie served in the United States Navy for two years during WWII. Jimmie married Wilma Smith Bailey on June 14, 1947 in McKinney, Texas. He retired in 1974 from the Veteran Hospital where he was a supervisor. Jimmie spent his retirement years farming. He loved fishing and visiting with family and friends. Jimmie was a lifelong member of the Eastfork Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Bailey of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Waynette Stone and husband Paul of McKinney, Texas and Glenda Holmes and husband Johnnie of Pottsboro; son, Gary Bailey and wife Debbie of Saline, Louisiana; 14 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; brothers, Gerald Bailey of Garland, Texas and Aubrey “Butch” Bailey of Louisiana; sisters, Wanda Frazier of McKinney, Texas, Katie Wiser of McKinney, Texas and Bobbie Beardslee of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sherry Minchew; brother, Freddie Bailey and sister, Delores Duncan. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2011 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, August 28, 2011 evening at 6:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in McKinney.
