IN LOVING MEMORY

Jian Wang

Nov 11 1977 - Mar 15 2018

On November 11, 1977, a special boy was born in Xingtai, Hebei Province in China.  Jian Wang was such an intelligent and thoughtful boy that he showed filial piety and respect for his parents and took care of his little brother at very young age. He loved music and art, enjoyed playing Erhu fiddle, calligraphy, sculpture, painting, and many other hobbies. He was also very athletic and good in playing all sorts of athletic games.  Jian was highly self-driven and got into North China Coal Medical University, where he met his true love, Chunfeng. Since then, they loved each other with undying affection. After graduating from college, he pursued his Master’s degree at Hebei Medical University and started his career as a Heart Surgeon. With his superb talent and three years’ of clinical experience, he graduated with excellent academic performance. He went to Kyoto University in Japan shortly after and continued research in cardiac surgery. He received a Doctoral Degree within the minimum time that the program allowed.  In Japan, their first son, Bowen was born. As a new father, Jian wanted to provide a better life for the family. He decided to bring the family to the US and became a researcher at the UT Southwestern Medical Center. He worked hard and accomplished many projects with his colleagues. The birth of their second son, Kevin, added more joy to the young family. As an extremely devoted father, Jian spent a lot of time with his two boys, no matter how busy his work schedule was. He played ball games with them, went swimming with them, and taught them how to do calligraphy and painting. The boys were both immersed in Jian’s unconditional love and took him as their role model. Jian was the best friend and husband for Chunfeng, from the first day they met, they have been in a beautiful, loving relationship.  Jian was not only a wise man, but also the trusted and well respected friend for many people around him. He was always available when anyone was in need.  In his 40 years of life, Jian had given many precious memories to all of us. We don’t want to let him go, and he will remain in our heart forever.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Saturday, March 24, 2018 to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
