Jesse Ray Pittman of Celina, Texas, passed away just five days shy of his 100th birthday, on Saturday, December 8, 2018. He was born on December 13, 1918, in San Antonio, Texas, to Minnie Alma (Jolly) and Jesse Glass Pittman. Jesse married the love of his life, Hortense Pittman, in San Antonio, Texas, on December 3, 1967. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and worked for the Railroad Industry as a Yard Manager.
Jesse is survived by his beloved wife, Hortense Pittman; his daughters, Karen Hurley of Plano, Texas, and Carolyn Welch and her husband, Johnny, of Celina, Texas; his precious grandchildren, David Hurley, Stacy Pittman, William Kubicek, Karol Johnson, Karla Descoteau, and Mindy Koehne; eleven (11) wonderful great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews, Margie Boyer, Marry Rasper, Mike Mueller, Becky Baumann, Kathy Potter and Barb Stork; as well as numerous great-nieces & great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Pittman; his sister, Doris Mueller, and his parents, Jesse G. Pittman & Minnie (Jolly) Pittman.
The family will receive friends during a visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 109 S. Oklahoma Street, Celina, Texas, on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., burial to follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery.
