Jesse R. Hiatt, age 80, of Leonard, Texas, passed away June 22, 2008. He was born August 27, 1927, in Delmar, Iowa, the son of Roscoe Ira and Opal Leona Peyton Hiatt. He married Dorothy Jean Dillard on December 8, 1951, in Bonham, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leonard. He was also a Mason and a Shriner. He retired from the United States Air Force after twenty-one years of service. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Mike Wood of Leonard; sister, Alice Walker of Bailey; granddaughters, Stephanie Wood of Plano and Lisa Wood of San Marcus; brother-in-law, Pat Massey of Del Rio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Hiatt; and his parents, Roscoe I. and Opal L. Hiatt. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 26, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Leonard with Rev. Morris Robbins and Rev. Dewey Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Leonard Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel in Leonard.
