Jerry Bryant of Prosper, Texas passed away on July 30, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born on July 25, 1928 to D. W. and Clytee (Thompson) Montgomery in Copeville, Texas. Jerry worked as a nurse for 40 years at Collin Memorial Hospital of McKinney, Texas. She served as the first lady on the Prosper School board from 1970-75. Jerry was a member of First Baptist Church in Prosper, Texas and served throughout the community, including Bethelhem Place and Cornerstone. She enjoyed working at the local vacation bible schools since 1998 and was a devoted Christian who was always willing to help others.
She is survived by her son, Paul Bryant and wife, Darlene of Celina, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah Bryant of McKinney, Texas and Mary Dupree and husband, Clayton of Weatherford, Texas; and great granddaughter, Effie Leigh Dupree.
Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, D. W. and Clytee Montgomery; brother, James Montgomery; sister, Lometa Short; and son, James Allen Bryant, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Thompson Cemetery in Copeville, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday morning one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home on Thursday at their convenience to pay their respects and sign a register book.
