IN LOVING MEMORY

Jerry Wayne Eckert

Beloved husband, father and PawPaw also known as Jerry Wayne Eckert passed away peacefully after a battle of recurring cancer beside family at 3:09 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at age 69.

Jerry was born in Brenham, Texas on March 25, 1949 and raised in Greenvine. He was a proud football player, graduate of Burton High School and attendant of Blinn College.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mona Box Eckert of 25 years and resided in Princeton, Texas, northeast of Dallas. His son, Ryan Eckert and wife Mickelle of Duncan, Oklahoma , his daughter Rachel Nordt and husband Mark of Brenham, Texas. Grandchildren; Zachary, Samantha, Kristin and Addison Eckert, Noelle Nordt, Hannah Key and Grace Stover. Also, adoptive grandchildren; Zekie Eckert and Emma Eckert. Brothers; Malcom Gene Eckert and Ina, Jimmie Eckert and Billie and Sister, Joyce Gouldson. Brother-in-Law, Mitchell and Karan Box and sisters-in-law; Marsha Cotter and Harry and Marti Jursevskis. Also, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruby Eckert.

Jerry’s laugh was contagious, his love was always true and had a good, caring heart. He was inspired by food shows and the highlight to most days was a good meal, playing scrabble and reading the local Banner Press.

As Jerry wished, his family will have a celebration of life in his honor at a later date in Brenham with his favorite meal, Beer, BBQ and Fried Chicken. Memories will be with us until we meet again. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local Hospice.
