IN LOVING MEMORY

Jerry LeLand Mason

Feb 04 1950 - Oct 06 2022

Beloved grandfather, father, husband, and friend, Jerry Leland Mason was called home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2022, in Farmersville, Texas at the age of 72. He was born on February 4, 1950, to Glen and Rogenia Mason in Fort Worth, Texas. Jerry graduated from Polytechnic High School and later attended General Motors Training School in Garland, Texas, where he became a mechanic working for Frank Kent Cadillac in Fort Worth. In August of 1970, he married the love of his life, Martha Bourland Mason. They resided in Crowley, Texas, where he worked for Harbison Fischer until 1984 when they moved to Farmersville to restore the family’s historical home and raise their two children. He completed most of the work on the home by himself. At the same time, he started his own business, Mason’s Welding. As you drive around Farmersville and surrounding areas, there is evidence of his amazing metal work. He was a member of the Farmersville Masonic Lodge #214 and a member of the Scottish Rite. Jerry loved to fish, tell stories and jokes, and work in his shop. He also loved spending time with his five grandchildren at the farm. Nothing would make him happier than to just sit back, listen, and watch them play while eating a popsicle. In his later years, he loved to read his Bible and watch First Baptist Dallas with his wife. The most important decision of his life came just two months ago when Jerry decided to follow his savior and be baptized alongside his son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. Jerry is survived by his wife, Marti of Farmersville; daughter, Jeri Lynn Pickett and her husband, Dale of Farmersville; son, Jeff Mason and his wife, Emilie of Forney. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Madalyn and Morgan Pickett; and Kinsey, Kade, and Max Mason. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, sister, and brother. Visitation will be held at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville on October 9, 2022, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. followed by the 3:00 p.m. graveside service at the Farmersville IOOF Cemetery.
