Jerry Don Ritter, 82, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away, Friday, November 13, 2020, at Avalon Memory Care Home in McKinney, Texas surrounded by his wife and daughters. Mr. Ritter was born August 19, 1938, in Tipton, Oklahoma, son of Bayless Arkley Ritter and Elsie Catherine (James) Ritter. He married Ruthann Mullins on December 22, 1958. In addition to his wife of almost 62 years, Jerry is also survived by his brother, David Ritter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughters, Marcy Roark of Forney, Texas, and Kelly Espino and husband, Danny, of Fairview, Texas; five grandchildren, Tryke Roark, Ritter Roark, Keenan Roark, Brynly Roark and Amarisa Espino; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and also siblings, Tom Ritter, James Ritter, Paul Ritter, Betty Fern Evans and Ronald Ritter.
Jerry graduated from Centralia (Illinois) High School. He served 2 years in the United States Army (stationed in Germany). Jerry retired from Contel Telephone after 25 years in Cash, Texas. He and Ruthann built their dream home on 22 acres outside of Winnsboro, Texas, beginning in 1992. Jerry went back to work for Peoples Telecom and retired after 16 years. His true love of life was his wife, family, pets and home.
A memorial service will be held for immediate family, date to be determined.
