IN LOVING MEMORY

Jerrine "Jerri" Satterwhite Davis

Feb 07 1949 - Jun 30 2026

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Jerrine "Jerri" Satterwhite Davis, who passed away suddenly at her home in Plano, Texas, on June 30, 2026.

Jerri was born on February 7, 1949, in Seattle, Washington, to Everett Arthur and Florence Shigley Satterwhite. When she was two years old, her family relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she was raised. She graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1967 and attended Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she majored in elementary education. While at Northeastern, she met the love of her life, Dewey William Davis. They were married on August 30, 1969.

Throughout her life, Jerri worked in a variety of roles, including apartment complex manager, preschool teacher, and retail specialist. After settling in Plano, she devoted much of her time to serving others through volunteer work at Operation Kindness Animal Shelter and the Support Your Troops thrift store. She was also an active member of the Richardson Senior Center, where she enjoyed line dancing and playing her beloved baritone ukulele.

Jerri was a gracious and humble soul who gave generously, even when she had very little herself. No one ever left her home empty-handed—you were just as likely to leave with a meal as you were with furniture, clothing, or a thoughtful treasure she believed belonged with you. She loved thrift shopping and had an uncanny ability to find exactly what she was looking for. If she found something that reminded her of someone she loved, she never hesitated to buy it and give it away.

Her quirky sense of humor carried her through life's many challenges. Whether she was wearing a funny wig, confidently sporting faux leather pants, or strutting through the hospital draped in a "Fall Precaution" banner like a Miss America sash, Jerri had a remarkable gift for finding joy and making others laugh. She also had a deep appreciation for good food and delighted in carefully arranging and photographing her meals as though they belonged in the pages of a magazine.

Jerri's life was a testament to the importance of family, friendship, compassion and forgiveness. She deeply valued personal growth, self-reflection, and the friendships she built within her community. She strongly believed in the power of second chances and spent the latter chapters of her life focused on healing, self-improvement, and lifting up those around her. She impacted many people’s lives with her spirit of quiet strength, gratitude and generosity and leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished for generations.

Jerri is survived by her daughter, Angela Davis McMeins and her husband, Rand; as well as a number of beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Davis; her parents, Everett Arthur and Florence Shigley Satterwhite; and her brother, Rex Satterwhite.

In accordance with Jerri's wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to Operation Kindness Animal Shelter in Carrollton, Texas or Support Your Troops/Operation Once in a Lifetime in Plano, Texas, two organizations that reflected her lifelong compassion for both people and animals.

Jerri will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her generous heart, infectious humor, resilient spirit and the countless ways she made the world a kinder place.
