IN LOVING MEMORY

Jenny Lynn Schmalzried

Feb 07 1972 - Aug 01 2020

Jenny Lynn Schmalzried, age 48, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away peacefully August 1, 2020.  Jenny was born February 7, 1972, in Lake City, Florida.  Shortly after, Jenny moved to Springfield Missouri, where she lived until 1982.  Her family then moved to Joshua, TX, and then to Denton, TX, where she graduated from Denton High School in 1990. After high School, Jenny attended and graduated from Cosmetology School in Denton Texas.  During this time, she met the love of her life, Eric Schmalzried, while working at the Texas Cattle Company in Corinth, whom she later married on October 8, 1999, in Irving, Texas.

Jenny had her first daughter, Loren (Rosales) Moore, on June 16, 1994 and had her second daughter, Emily Anne Schmalzried, on April 21, 2001.

Jenny worked much of her adult life in the cosmetology and beauty industry.  She worked as a hairstylist, owned a tanning salon, and owned a beauty salon.  In more recent years, Jenny worked in customer service at various businesses in the area.  Anyone who knows Jenny would tell you she was one of the hardest working and most dependable workers they have known.

Jenny lit up any room she was in, and made everyone around her feel special and would tell them she loved them.  Jenny had an energetic and dynamic personality and truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures;  Listening to music while sitting on her patio with a beer, watching and taking pictures of sunsets, playing video games, scary movie night, driving her dream car around with sunroof open and windows down, cuddling with her dog Milo, sleeping in late, and hanging out with her family and close friends.  Jenny also loved to vacation with her family and friends to her favorite places which included Florida, Colorado, and Mexico.

Above all, Jenny loved and enjoyed being with her family.  Jenny took great pride in her family and was very protective of them.  She would never skip an opportunity to brag about them to anyone who would listen.  Most recently, Jenny spoke about nothing more than her daughter Emily and Texas Tech University. If you have met Jenny, you have heard about this extensively!

She is survived by her husband, Eric Schmalzried of Carrollton, Texas; daughters, Emily Schmalzried and Loren Moore; granddaughter, Karter Moore; parents, Rick and Nancy Carpenter of Springfield, Missouri; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Beth Schmalzried of Frisco, Texas; grandmother, Betty Spalding also of Springfield; sister, Jacque Hintz and husband, Douglas of Flower Mound, Texas; nieces, Samantha Hintz and Beth Avery; nephews, Michael Hintz and Sean Avery; sisters-in-law, Dawn Avery of Arlington, Texas and Julie Barrett and husband, Thomas of Lewisville, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loving relatives.
