Jennie Franch of Anna, Texas passed away March 12, 2021 at the age of 96. She was born on November 4, 1924 to Vincent DeStefano and Maria (DiMatesi) DeStefano in Melrose Park, Illinois. Jennie married the late Victor John Franch on November 19, 1949 in Melrose Park, Illinois. She and Victor were active members of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Melrose Park. Jennie participated in Altar and Rosary services and more distinctly she served as May Queen for the church. Since living in Texas, Jennie was a devoted member of Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano, Texas.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth David Franch and wife, Terry of Savannah, Texas; Thomas Gerard Franch and wife, Liz of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Victor Ronald Franch and wife, Shannon Stone of Anna, Texas; grandchildren, Kimberly Franch and husband, Giovanni Perogini, Stacy Volhein and husband, Bill Volhein, Deanna Walker and husband, Barret Walker, Victor James Franch, Thomas John Franch, Erica Dyer, Jeffrey Minch and wife, Lisa Minch, Lauren Minch, J.T. Franch, Anthony Franch and wife, Brittany Franch, Kelli Franch and partner Antwan Banks, Allison Kemper, Ryan Kemper, and Bryan Kemper; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Gwendolyn, Anna, Evan, Kaydence, Lyric, Koda, Serenity, Ethan, Cooper, Mollie, Tylee, and Zoie; sister, Mary Headley of Willowbrook, Illinois; sister-in-law, Carla Scopacasa of St. Charles, Illinois; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Maria Scopacasa; brothers and sisters, Mary Hicks, Sam DeStefano, Antoinette DeStefano, Vincent DeStefano, Antoinette Koscinski, and Felix Scopacasa.
A “come and go” visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. A rosary service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 25, 2021 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 North Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas 75002
