Jeff Samford passed away June 3, 2023 at the age of 84. He was born to Jeff and Geneva Samford in Nacogdoches, Texas. Jeff was a graduate of South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, Texas. He earned his bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. After retirement, Jeff was an advisor 17 years for his beloved fraternity. Jeff married Karen E. Sanford in Houston, Texas. He excelled in the sales industry his entire career with the majority being Colgate-Palmolive (previously the Kendall Company). He had a passion for sports. In his early life Jeff coached a variety of youth sports. For many years Jeff coached both of his children in basketball, softball, and baseball. Jeff loved to play golf, chess, board games and poker. He had a passion for going on cruises, traveling, and going to the lake with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Jeff was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Karen Samford of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Keri Samford and husband, Brett Beene of The Colony, Texas; son, Bart Samford of Gilmer, Texas; brother, Henry Samford and wife, Peggy of Plano, Texas; brother-in-law, Maurice Pierce and wife, Jennifer of Dallas, Texas; nephew, Scott Samford and wife, Amy of Irving, Texas; nephew, Jason Pierce of Dallas, Texas; niece, Heather Weaver of Allen, Texas and numerous other nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2023 at Turrentine Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6300 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75323. Please enter the cemetery by the Marseilles gate and the route will be marked to the gravesite.
The family will receive guests during a visitation on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
