Jeanne Marie Hearn Goodrich

Jeanne Marie Hearn Goodrich, beloved wife, mother, grandmommy, daughter, sister, and friend, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease, on February 9, 2023, surrounded by family and her loving husband, Charles.

Jeanne was born on October 22, 1946, in Shreveport, Louisiana where she lived for most of her life.  She graduated from Fair Park High School in 1964.  She married the love of her life, Charles Goodrich, on August 21, 1965.  Jeanne and Charles spent over 60 years together and were married for 57 years. They built a beautiful Christ-centered life with each other and their three children.

She spent the first 18 years of her career working at the family business, Mildred’s Cards and Gifts, she then spent many years working in the banking industry at Pioneer National Bank.  Jeanne eventually returned to school in 1998 and received her college degree.  For the past ten years, she lived in McKinney, Texas where she and Charles moved to be close to their children and eight grandchildren.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Watson Hearn, Jr., and wife, Mildred Cantrell Hearn of Shreveport, Louisiana. She is survived by her husband Charles; children, Jeff Goodrich and wife, Mary Beth, Carla Gibson, Corey Goodrich and wife, Anna; eight grandchildren, Loren Gibson, Logan Gibson, Grant Goodrich, Joshua Goodrich, Victoria Goodrich, Caleb Goodrich, Coby Goodrich and Christian Goodrich; sisters, Tommie Snyder, and husband, Buzz, Paula Jenkins and husband, Lee; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 13, 2023 at First McKinney Baptist Church Chapel, 1615 Louisiana Street, McKinney, Texas 75069.  The family will receive friends during a visitation at the church one hour prior to the memorial service.

A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Centuries Memorial Cemetery in Shreveport. Honoring Jeanne as pallbearers will be her six grandsons aged 25 to 13.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Loren Gibson, who took on the role as caregiver during the last eight months to her beloved grandmommy, Anna Goodrich who has helped Jeanne and Charles for years, and the staff at Faith Presbyterian Hospice, especially Gabby, Peta and Yoga. Special thanks are extended to the members of her Sunday School class at First McKinney Baptist church for their many prayers, support and friendship over the years.

Those that know and love Jeanne will miss her beautiful heart and love of her family.
