IN LOVING MEMORY

Jeanne F. Dedrick

Mar 01 1935 - Aug 02 2020

Jeanne F. Dedrick, 85, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 in Plano, Texas.  Jeanne was born March 1, 1935, in Owatonna, Minnesota, to Frank and Alice (Styndl) Pfeifer.  She married Don Dedrick, Jr. on September 3, 1960 in Owatonna, Minnesota.  Don and Jeanne enjoyed 56 wonderful years of marriage.

Jeanne grew up on the family farm with two brothers and two sisters.  She rode her horse “Fly” to a one-room country school where she was the top (and only) student in her grade for several years.  After high school, Jeanne left the farm and became a stewardess for Northwest Airlines, where she enjoyed exciting trips to many interesting places, such as Hawaii and Japan.  After Jeanne married Don, they lived in several homes across the country, spending many years in Arizona and Missouri.  Jeanne had two children, Michelle and Greg, and took great care of her family.

Jeanne had a green thumb and nurtured countless beautiful plants throughout the years.  She had a great fondness for turtles and cats.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, crafts, playing cards, and visiting with friends and family.  She was known for her delicious mac & cheese and parmesan toast, and kept an assortment of cookies on hand at all times.

Jeanne was a cheerful, kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Mawson of Fountain Valley, California; son, Greg Dedrick and wife, Patty of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Dylan Rettenberger, Audrey Dedrick, Mikey Mawson, Kate Dedrick, and Sabrina Mawson; brothers, Dave Pfeifer and wife, Shirley of Owatonna, Minnesota and Dan Pfeifer of El Paso, Texas; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents, Frank and Alice; sisters, Mary Alice Klemmer and Eileen Pfeifer; nephew, Craig Klemmer; brother-in-law, Jerry Dedrick; and sister-in-law, Patricia Pfeifer.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, TX 75023 on August 10, 2020, at 11 AM with Father Bruce Bradley as celebrant.  An interment will take place at Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Campaign Fund at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
