With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeanice Casey, 74 who left this earth and ran into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
Jeanice was born on September 2, 1951, in Amarillo, Texas to John and Oweta McLeland. She graduated from Palo Duro High School and continued her education at Amarillo College. Amarillo was her hometown, but when she became a Grandmother / Nanny she relocated to Fairview, Texas to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters – a move that perfectly reflected her lifelong devotion to family.
Jeanice was better known as Mom, Nanny or Sissy. She was, by nature, a caretaker, fiercely dedicated to those she loved. As the sole caretaker of her son, Dustyn Casey, the two of them shared countless hours in the car and at his activities. The bond they shared was unique, deep and unwavering- a reflection of her steadfast love and strength.
Her dedication extended to her daughter, Jennifer and son-in-law Charles and especially to her beloved granddaughters, Brynn and Emersyn, Nanny was their biggest fan - always present at every special event, cheering them on with pride and making friends in the stands. She was also there for the everyday moments, always offering steady support, encouragement and unconditional love.
Sissy was known as the connector within her family. She made sure everyone stayed informed about one another’s successes and struggles. She believed family should stay close, and she worked tirelessly to make sure they did. Her gift for connection extended beyond family. She had an extraordinary ability to make every person she encountered feel seen and valued, from neighbors to her physicians. She remembered the details that mattered because she genuinely cared enough to ask and understand those she encountered.
She will be remembered as loyal, loving, and deeply dedicated to her family. Her love was steadfast, her presence strong, her heart generous and her devotion unmatched.
Jeanice is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Bibles (Charles), her son, Dustyn Casey, her cherished granddaughters, Brynn and Emersyn, her sister and Best Friend, Mary Ann Reed (John), her sister, Diane and her nieces and nephews, Kevin, Missy, Carla, Russell, Damra, Tiffany and Jami, along with countless friends whose lives she touched.
Jeanice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Oweta McLeland, her brother, Dusty McLeland and her brother, J.R. McLeland.
Though her family’s hearts are broken they find comfort in knowing her love, strength and legacy will continue to guide them every day and that her granddaughters will tackle life with the lessons they learned from her their Nanny.
