Jean (Rosalind Virginia) Harper

Jean (Rosalind Virginia) Turner Harper was born April 2, 1929 in Gainesville, Texas to Whaley Turner and Amy Loyce Thomas Turner. She married Norman David Harper on July 27, 1963 in Gainesville, Texas. She died Friday, March 18, 2016 at her residence, at the age of 86.

Jean was a graduate of the University of North Texas at Denton. She was an accomplished artist. She and her husband Norman loved playing golf, riding horses, and raising numerous animals. She had an extensive library and was an avid reader and a gourmet cook. She also wrote a wonderful book about animals and all her wonderful pets. She is loved and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by husband, Norman Harper of Whitewright; son, David Harper of Whitewright; daughter, Amy Stout of Quinlan; brother, William Turner of Frisco; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one granddaughter.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Church of Christ, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Frazier Conley. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright, Texas. Pallbearers will be David Harper, Danny Stout, Chris Plafcan, Chris Ramos, Richard Hicks, and Casey Hicks.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 12:30pm to service time at 1:00pm at the Church of Christ in Whitewright.
