Jean LaPrade, of McKinney, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, at the age of 96.

Jean was born on January 1, 1930, in Dallas, Texas, to Otis Beryl Jones and Ruby Bell (Kennedy) Jones. She grew up in Dallas, where she met the love of her life, William "Bill" Glenn LaPrade. The couple was married on April 6, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, and shared many wonderful years filled with cherished moments until Bill's passing.

Jean devoted her life to caring for her family. Her home was a place of warmth, love, and unwavering support, and she found her greatest joy in being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She lived with quiet strength, kindness, and a generous spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

Jean was of the Baptist faith and was a faithful member of First McKinney Baptist Church. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was reflected in the compassion and grace she extended to others.

Jean will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her legacy of love, faith, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jean is survived by her sons, Ronald LaPrade and wife, Nora of McKinney, Texas and Stephen Glenn LaPrade and wife, Sandy of Sidney, Nebraska; grandchildren Joel LaPrade of Destin, Florida, Alisha Jurgens and husband, Conan of Shreveport, Louisiana, Shanda LaPrade of Rapid City, South Dakota, Lorin Lowry and husband, Logan of Lucas, Texas and Ross LaPrade and wife, Jessica of Jenks, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Blake LaPrade, Skyler Langer and wife, Josie, Knox Lowry, Rhett Lowry, Everly Lowry, Greyson LaPrade, and Maggie LaPrade; great-great-grandchild, Rosalie Marie Langer; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Bill LaPrade; parents; Otis and Ruby Jones; and siblings, Wardell Johnson, Thelma Franks, Kas Jones and Rae Perlmutter.

The graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
