Jean Branson Donley of McKinney, Texas passed away on January 17, 2018 at the age of 89. She was born December 21, 1928, to Jesse Samuel and Maude Allison (Peniston) Shellabarger, in Bells, Tennessee. Jean was a graduate of Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. She was a realtor for Ebby Halliday of Dallas for over twenty-seven years. Jean was a faithful member of Park Cities Baptist Church since 1963.
She is survived by her children, Shelly Betts and husband Lynn of Mexico, Leslie Branson and wife Rose Mary of Whitewright, Gregory Branson of Dallas, Texas, and Kent Branson of Whitewright, Texas; stepchildren, Jim Donley of Irving, Texas, David Donley of Irving, Texas, and Susan Donley of Dallas, Texas grandchildren, Richard Devaney, Danielle Gravley, Nikki Pool, Remley Elizabeth Gorsuch, and Rebecca Larsen; and several great-grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, George Remley Branson (1976) whom she married on February 26, 1949 in Memphis, Tennessee, second husband, Jack Donley; (1999); parents, one sister, Doris Marie Shellabarger and brother, Robert Shellabarger.
A remembrance gathering will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. An inurnment will be held at Dallas Fort-Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
